Introduction to Mantracking, Search & Rescue Tracking (SART), Crime Scene Tracking (CST), Tactical Training (TT) and advanced Tracking methods and techniques. This course was designed for SAR members and law enforcement personnel that have little or no tracking experience. The course consists of 2 hours classroom and 2 hours field demonstration. It is an overview in awareness of what trackers can do and how well intentioned personnel can inadvertently destroy, damage and completely erase valuable clues and evidence at the scene. Special emphasis is placed on approach to crime scenes and preservation of track evidence. SAR Tracker $150 - 20 hours (POST) Certified training to prepare SAR members for urban, rural and night tracking under "ideal" conditions. Prerequisite: Track Aware This course is for the SAR or law enforcement person that has the desire to become a Nevada P.O.S.T certified tracker for the purpose of Search & Rescue. It is an intensive course with 4 hours of classroom and 6 hours in the field. Based on Jack Kearney's "Tracking: A Blueprint for Learning How" and developed with his consent, this course teaches all the basics. Successful trainees are certified through the State of Nevada and by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. Class size is limited to 6 students per instructor. Weekday courses also available at additional cost. Travel and lodging accommodations must be coordinated for the instructors by the host agency. Course content includes:
Advanced SAR Tracker $275 - 40 hours, all field work
Sign Cutting $300 - 20 hours, all field work
Basic Crime Scene & Evidence Preservation $350
Crime Scene Track Investigator (CSTI) $350 - 20 hours: 4 hrs class room + 16 hrs field Prerequisite: Track Aware and SAR Tracker Training for SAR members who enter crime scenes to locate, identify, track and/or preserve crime scenes and evidence. This course is for the highly motivated professional SAR or law enforcement person that has the desire to become a Nevada P.O.S.T. certified crime tracker for the purpose of assisting law enforcement in investigation of tracks and sign at crime scenes. It is an intensive course with 4 hours of classroom and 8 hours in crime scene scenarios based on real investigations. Successful trainees are certified through the State of Nevada Police Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) and by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. Class size limited to 3 students per instructor. Due to the nature of the material presented, all applicants must have a letter from their sponsoring law enforcement agency in order to participate. Weekday courses also available at additional cost. Travel and lodging accommodations must be coordinated for the instructors by the host agency. Course content includes:
Advanced Crime Scene Tracking $400 - 20 hours, all field work.
