Track Aware
Introduction to Mantracking, Search & Rescue Tracking (SART), Crime Scene Tracking
(CST), Tactical Training (TT) and advanced Tracking methods and techniques.
- SAR Tracking
(POST) Certified training to prepare SAR members for urban, rural and
night tracking under "ideal" conditions. Course content
includes:
- General awareness - use of all senses
- Tracking glossary
- Types of sign
- The tracking team
- The tracking stick
- Guidelines for recording tracking hours in a log book
- Measuring and documenting the track
- Tracking on various terrains and ground covers
- Pressure releases
- Backtracking for clues
- Day tracking
- Night tracking
- Advanced SAR Tracking
Advanced tracking for SAR members in various environments, conditions and terrains.
- Sign Cutting
An introduction to methods of cutting for sign. Course content includes:
- Team tactics used for sign cutting
- Management of sign cutting resources
- Sign cutting techniques for day tracking
- Sign cutting techniques for night tracking
- Crime Scene & Evidence Preservation
Introduction to crime scene recognition and preservation.
- Crime Scene Track Investigator (CSTI)
Training for SAR members who enter crime scenes to locate, identify,
track and/or preserve crime scenes and evidence. Course content includes:
- Crime scene preservation
- Backtracking for clues
- Observing and obeying crime scene protocols
- Proper techniques for approaching and entering a crime scene
- Controlling and directing a tracking team at a crime scene
- Completing a detailed report of actions and observations in
the crime scene
- Students must successfully complete a written test and practical
field exercise evaluation
- Students must maintain their CSTI certification by meeting
the yearly training hour requirements and successfully completing
an annual practical field exercise evaluation.
- Advanced Crime Scene Tracking
Advanced skills and techniques for preserving crime scenes.
- Tactical Tracking
Training for LEA/Corrections, SWAT/SRT and Military/DOD personnel to track fugitives.
